You don't need an account to use Watch Duty's core life-safety features, including wildfire and flood alerts.
If you have a Watch Duty account and are having trouble signing in, here's how to log in, reset your password, and troubleshoot common account issues.
How do I log in?
In the Watch Duty app:
- Open the Menu (≡) in the upper-left corner.
- Tap Login near the bottom of the menu.
- Enter the email address associated with your Watch Duty account and follow the prompts to sign in.
You can also log in through the Watch Duty web app.
How do I reset my password?
You can request a password reset by selecting Login from the Watch Duty mobile or web app, or go directly to the Watch Duty password reset page.
Enter the email address associated with your Watch Duty account. If an account exists for that email, you'll receive an email with instructions for resetting your password.
I requested a password reset but didn't receive an email
First, wait at least five minutes and check your spam or junk folder.
If the email still hasn't arrived:
- Try another email address you may have used with Watch Duty. Your account may be registered under a different email than the one you're entering.
- If you purchased your membership through Apple, check the email associated with your Watch Duty account. Apple purchases and account information can sometimes make it less obvious which email address is associated with your membership.
- Contact Watch Duty Support. Our team can help determine which email address is associated with your account.
I'm a new member and never created a password
When you first sign up for a Watch Duty membership, we automatically log you in on the device you used to sign up.
We also send an account setup email that allows you to create a password so you can sign in on other devices.
If you never received that email, check your spam or junk folder. You can also use the Watch Duty password reset page to set a password using the email address associated with your account.
This can also help if your account was created for you through Watch Duty Teams or another organization-sponsored membership and you never received the original setup email.
My organization uses Single Sign-On (SSO)
Some Watch Duty Teams organizations use Single Sign-On (SSO) instead of a Watch Duty password.
If SSO is enabled for your organization, enter your email address on the Watch Duty login screen. The password field will be hidden and you'll see Login with SSO instead.
Select Login with SSO to continue to your organization's identity provider and complete the sign-in process.
This is expected behavior for SSO-enabled accounts.
I see “You do not have an active WD Account”
If you see a message stating: “You do not have an active WD Account. Please contact your admin to create one” your Teams account may not have been created yet or may no longer be active.
Contact your organization's Watch Duty Teams account owner or admin to confirm that you have an active seat assigned to you. If your account appears to be configured correctly and you still can't sign in, contact Watch Duty Support.
Still can't log in?
If you've confirmed you're using the correct email address, tried resetting your password, and still can't access your account, contact Watch Duty Support for help.
