Watch Duty Platform Support Policy

  • Updated

Watch Duty is committed to providing reliable, up-to-date life-safety information. To maintain the stability and security of our apps and web experience, we follow the platform support policies below.

Watch Duty Versions

Watch Duty app releases are supported for 18 months from their original release date. After that window, the app will be blocked from use and must be updated to continue receiving Watch Duty information.

As an app approaches the end of its support window, users will receive in-app notices prompting them to update. Users who cannot update their app can access Watch Duty at app.watchduty.org.

Mobile OS Support

We evaluate and update our minimum supported OS versions annually, near the start of each year.

Platform Supported Versions
iOS The 3 most recent major versions
Android The 7 most recent major versions

Users on older operating systems may still be able to run an older version of Watch Duty, subject to the 18-month app version support window above. If your device no longer receives OS updates and you are unable to update the Watch Duty app, you may be able to access Watch Duty at app.watchduty.org.

Web Browser Support

Watch Duty's web experience supports the following browsers:

Browser Supported Versions
Safari The 3 most recent major versions
Chrome The 10 most recent major versions
Edge The 10 most recent major versions
Firefox The 10 most recent major versions
