If you've disputed a Watch Duty membership charge with your bank or credit card company, the dispute (also known as a chargeback) can temporarily limit what we're able to do with that payment.
Here's what to expect and how we can help.
If you've already opened a dispute
Once a dispute is opened, your bank places a hold on the disputed charge. While that dispute is active, Watch Duty cannot issue a refund for the charge.
If you contacted your bank because you would like a refund of your membership renewal:
- Contact your bank or credit card company and ask them to cancel the dispute.
- Wait for the dispute to be removed from the charge.
- Contact Watch Duty Support to request a refund.
Once the hold has been removed, we'll be able to process an eligible refund.
Even after you ask your bank to withdraw a dispute, it may take some time for the withdrawal to be processed and for the dispute to be fully resolved. Unfortunately, Watch Duty cannot control or speed up this process.
Before disputing a Watch Duty charge
If you haven't opened a dispute yet, we recommend contacting Watch Duty Support first.
In many cases, we can help resolve billing or membership concerns directly. Once a charge is disputed through your bank, our ability to take action on that payment is limited until the dispute is resolved.
For memberships purchased directly through Watch Duty, renewal reminders are sent 30 days and 7 days before your renewal date, giving you an opportunity to cancel before the membership renews.
What if I purchased my membership through Apple?
If you purchased your Watch Duty membership through the Apple App Store, Watch Duty cannot issue a refund for that purchase. App Store purchases and refunds are processed by Apple, so you'll need to request a refund directly from Apple.
See Apple App Store Memberships: Login, Billing, and Cancellation Help for instructions.
